Nourishing My Passion: Why Nutrition Means Everything to Me

Becoming a Dietetic Technician has been more than just an academic journey for me—it’s been deeply personal. My passion for nutrition is rooted in my everyday life, especially in my role as a mother of three. Every meal I prepare, every snack I choose, and every habit I build at home reflects the importance I place on health, balance, and long-term well-being.

As a mother, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful nutrition can be. It shapes not only physical health but also energy levels, focus, and overall happiness. Knowing that the choices I make today can impact my children’s future motivates me every single day to learn more, do better, and lead by example.

Coming from a South Asian background, food has always been a central part of our culture. It brings families together, tells stories, and carries tradition. However, I’ve also noticed that health and nutrition are not always prioritized in the way they could be. Many traditional meals, while rich in flavor and heritage, may not always align with modern nutritional needs.

That realization sparked something in me.

I want to be part of a new generation that embraces both culture and health—without losing the essence of either. I believe we don’t have to choose between enjoying our traditional foods and living a healthy lifestyle. Instead, we can adapt, learn, and make mindful changes that honor both.

This is why I’m so excited about my future in this field. I want to help individuals and families—especially within my community—understand nutrition in a way that feels approachable, realistic, and empowering. Whether it’s guiding someone through healthier food choices, providing education, or simply being a supportive voice, I’m passionate about making a difference.

Nutrition is not about perfection. It’s about progress, awareness, and balance.

As I continue growing in my career, my goal is simple: to help people feel confident in their choices, improve their health, and build sustainable habits that last a lifetime. This journey is just beginning, and I’m truly excited for what’s ahead.
